Painting Landscapes: Composing Shapes and Values

I'm learning to use iMovie to turn my digital photos and videos into movies I can share with other artists. Here's one about organizing shapes and values in a plein air landscape created with oil colors. I'll be interested in your comments and suggestions. Thanks, Steve

  1. This is really well done, the iMovie platform looks like a worthwhile investment.

The tutorial on composition was beneficial, and many demonstrations like this don't focus enough on this very important aspect of painting.

I hope you do more of these.

  3. Nice Steve. The visuals about composition were clear, and the tidbits about light effects were
    good reminders.

  5. I plan to return to this website, but I thought the clarity of the iMovie was poor--quite fuzzy. I also noticed that although you stated that the sky is lighter in value than water the painting showed the opposite.
